X Games 12 may have been a few years ago now but this trick is timeless! Back in 2006 Travis Pastrana landed the world’s first double backflip on a dirt bike, and won the title of ‘Moto X Best Trick’ during the competition with a score of 98.60. It was at the time, and could well still be the highest score awarded in ‘Best Trick.’
Despite claiming during an interview that he would never perform the trick again, Travis Pastrana returned to X Games 16 in 2010 (after taking 3 years out of the competition) to once again pull off the amazing double backflip! Unsurprisingly, for this, he won gold.
The first double backflip will always be my favourite. That being said, the lazy boy after the second does make Travis Pastrana look so much more relaxed. It’s almost as if he is playing it down – Saying ‘no big deal.’
Fact: Every time he travels, Travis Pastrana has to buy an extra plane ticket just for his balls.
